Is anyone watching the new Castaway or switching off as I have? This new one is terrible or is it that it has high expectations to live up to? The presenter is awful and I cant see them exploring the Island as they would end up running into either a holiday maker or the local pub!!

I loved the original, it was so raw, naural and you felt that envious that we all wanted to be there . Also the people who took part could have been brothers / sisters or neighbours, you felt that close to them.

Castaway 2000 was fantastic and I dont think it will ever be surpassed. Anything else now is a let down. A BIG thank you for not only allowing us into your private lives, the highs and the lows but also to discover a beautiful Island that is part of this Great Country that we live.

Just a test to get this thing working again, I think the problem was that I did not install php4-gd

It's interesting that so much reality television has happened since Castaway 2000, but most of it isn't as good...I have to add that I love Big Brother and I'm a Celeb - but you can keep Wifeswap and that ridiculous Love Island.
I hope that Lion get the whole place crawling with cameras and listening devices the second time around; they missed so much of what was going on the first time around!! mind you, a number of people on the original probably wouldn't have signed up for it had that been the case, but I really think it gives BB the edge, as there is no hiding place. I was able to pick and choose what I said to camera and that's just cheating, really!!!

Interesting to read your comments - and who is Sophie? You'd better confess!
Fascinated to hear about the new castaway being planned. How exciting! I am actually quite jealous but think that whoever goes will have a fabulous time of it. Lucky them.

  Hey,
I remember as a 17 year old watching this tv show (i should have been studying hard for my final school exams) that i loved. 6 years later i came across mark mccrums book version of castaway in a second hand book shop and i sparked my memory big time. Castaway was is my favourite tv show ever, i loved it and id love to know if anyone knows if you can get it on dvd and did julie ever get her book published. Infact, what happened to them all? are trev and trish still married, are tanya and paul still married? whats become of mike, padraig and toby? id love to know how it all turned out for them. Anyone??
